"I can hear the Mills Brothers singing a Hoagy Carmichael song from many years ago. 'Up a lazy river by the old mill run, that lazy, lazy river in the noonday sun. Linger in the shade of a kind old tree. Throw away your troubles, dream a dream with me....Blue skies up above, everyone's in love...' In my painting it's lilac skies and more misty than noonday sun, but the song lingers on as I paint."
